Atlanta Botanical Garden Exhibit: Alice in Wonderland Returns (Thursday)

CRITICS’ CHOICE: Alice’s Wonderland Returns, Atlanta Botanical Garden – Hang out with the grinning Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts and her army of chess sets AND a 26-foot-tall White Rabbit in this fantastical topiary exhibit, featuring 38 gigantic mosaics inspired by Lewis Carroll’s timeless creations. Plus, the garden hosts “Wonderland Cocktails” on Thursdays from 5 to 9 p.m., where Alice-themed drinks are served to adults while kids participate in scavenger hunts, games, music and photo ops with the characters. – Kevin C. On view until September 15, Alice’s Return to Wonderland presents 38 larger-than-life sculptures in seven installations inspired by Lewis Carroll’s timeless tales, as well as Shaggy Dog and the now iconic Earth Goddess, two pieces from the garden’s permanent collection from the 2013-2014 exhibitions Imaginary worlds: Larger than life plants And A new kingdom of giant plants.

Let your imagination guide you as you enter the garden through giant storybooks. Sneak past the grinning Cheshire Cat and watch Alice twirl in a whirlwind of teacups and playing cards. Watch out for the Queen of Hearts and her army of chess sets as you greet the singing new flowers as you approach the 27-foot-tall White Rabbit floating in the Skyline Garden.
