South Jersey man who sexually abused five children is sentenced to prison

A man who admitted to sexually abusing five children earlier this year has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

Jesus Figueroa, 58, of Vineland, was sentenced Friday to five 10-year prison terms, all to be served concurrently, the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release. He pleaded guilty to all five counts of second-degree sexual assault on Feb. 21.

He was charged with those crimes in 2022 after being accused of sexually abusing five girls over a 10-year period. All of the victims were under 13 at the time of the abuse, prosecutors said.

Under the No Early Release Act, Figueroa must serve at least 85% of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. After his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender and will be on parole supervision for life.
