Tommy Robinson arrested in Canada on suspicion of violating immigration laws

Tommy Robinson was arrested in Canada on suspicion of violating immigration law.

Footage published on the Internet shows Robinson – whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon – being handcuffed by two plainclothes police officers who tell the 41-year-old that there is “an outstanding immigration arrest warrant” against him.

He is then led away.

Robinson was arrested shortly after a speech in Calgary on Monday.

He has since been released, but according to his social media channel, his passport has been confiscated.

He wrote: “Okay, I’m FREE. We’re going to do this somehow. None of this makes sense. I’m now being held in Calgary and not allowed to leave the city. These conditions prevent me from continuing my tour of Canada and meeting with guests for podcasts. I’m not even allowed to travel home.”

Robinson was speaking at an event called “An Evening with Tommy Robinson,” organized by the far-right media website Rebel News and its founder Ezra Levant.

In 2012, Robinson pleaded guilty to using a friend’s passport to enter the United States and was sentenced to ten months in prison.
