One dead after rollover crash near Bristol | News

BRISTOL – An Elkhart man is dead and another injured after a rollover crash that occurred early Sunday morning east of Bristol.

Fernando Diaz Calderon, 26, was driving west on Ind. 120, west of CR 131, at 5:50 a.m. when his 2015 Honda Accord drifted to the left and left the roadway on the south side of the road. He struck a mailbox and then a tree, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his vehicle was heavily damaged.

A passenger in the vehicle, Eduardo Garcia Terrones, 27, of Elkhart, suffered serious injuries and was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital. Both men were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and the accident remains under investigation.
