Motorcyclist killed, teen arrested for drunk driving after accident in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) – A man has died after a nighttime motorcycle accident in Fresno County.

It happened after 9 p.m. Friday at Mount Whitney Avenue and East Street, near the town of Laton.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a man was traveling west on Mount Whitney on a motorcycle when a 17-year-old boy in a pickup truck ran a stop sign on East Street.

According to officials, it is not known whether the teenager failed to stop or failed to yield the right of way before turning into the intersection.

According to investigators, the two then collided.

The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

According to authorities, the boy was arrested for drunk driving.
