Man convicted of sexually abusing a child in Madison County, Texas

He will now spend the next 15 years in prison and, after serving his sentence, will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

In early March 2021, the County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a child allegedly being sexually abused. They investigated the report and found that Wesley Holdridge, the recently convicted man, had sexually abused a young woman under the age of 17 in early May of the previous year by and forced her to have oral sex with him.

Holdridge was sentenced before Judge David Moorman in 12th District Court. According to prosecutors, he faces between 2 and 20 years in prison.

“Our office will continue to fight to ensure that adults who sexually abuse children are put in prison,” said District Attorney Courtney Cain. “This young victim did the right thing by coming forward, and law enforcement did a great job of building a prosecutable case.”
