Former Oregon Ducks center N’Faly Dante signs with Houston Rockets

Oregon center N’Faly Dante (1) celebrates Oregon’s victory against Colorado in an NCAA college basketball game in the Pac-12 Tournament Championship, Saturday, March 16, 2024 , in Las Vegas.

Former Oregon Ducks center N’Faly Dante has agreed to a two-way deal with the Houston Rockets, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Dante, who went undrafted in the 2024 NBA draft, was denied an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA in June before turning pro. The 22-year-old Malian will now have the opportunity to earn his NBA spot through a deal that will see him split his time between the Rockets and their G-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in Edinburg, Texas.

Dante, who stands 2.08 m tall, averaged 17 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks last season for the Ducks. During his final season at Oregon, Dante said he built a house for his mother in Mali with NIL money.
