Teen killed in Cape Cod car crash identified – Boston 25 News

MASHPEE, Massachusetts – The victim of a fatal car crash Tuesday in Mashpee has been identified.

17-year-old Nolan Robert Barr was tragically killed when an SUV carrying six other teenagers crashed into a tree on Carlton Drive near Swain Circle shortly after 2 a.m.

“It appears the vehicle was traveling north on Carlton Drive when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the road and struck a tree south of Swain Circle,” Mashpee Police Chief Scott W. Carline said in a statement.

The chief says all seven occupants of the car were between 15 and 17 years old.

Three victims were taken to the South Shore Trauma Center. Two others were taken to Falmouth Hospital and one person was uninjured.

His classmates remember Barr as a funny boy who was “always happy and always smiling.”

“We all liked him,” says Frances Delgado, one of Barr’s colleagues at a nursing home. “The nicest boy you could imagine.”

Barr’s funeral will take place Sunday at Chapman Funerals and Cremations in Mashpee, followed by a memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nolan’s memory may be sent to: I Got You, Inc. (The Ryan Hendricks Scholarship), 121 South Sandwich Rd., Mashpee, MA 02649 or online via Venmo.
