Bakersfield murder suspect arrested in Georgia

BPD – Bakersfield Police Department

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – A man accused of a murder in Bakersfield six years ago was arrested Monday in Georgia, police said.

Christopher Nathaniel Kenney is awaiting extradition to Kern County, police said.

Kenney is charged with murder and four counts of attempted murder in connection with a 2018 shooting that killed rival gang member Jeremy Charles Littlejohn and injured four others, according to court records. The charges were filed earlier this year.

According to the documents, Kenney’s DNA was found in bullet casings at the crime scene. The victims were found in front of an open garage on Chandler Court, south of Wilson Avenue and west of Wible Road.

It is alleged that Kenney participated in a reenactment of the shooting in a rap video posted on YouTube titled “Fonk Season.”

“The video begins with a skit in which Kenney sneaks up on a victim in an apartment complex before shooting him,” a Bakersfield police investigator wrote in the documents. “The victim depicted in the music video bears similarities to (name redacted but apparently Littlejohn) in terms of race and build.”
