Shooting in subway train leaves one dead in South LA

One person was killed in a shooting on a subway train in the West Adams district of southern Los Angeles on Friday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, it happened around 7:20 p.m. at the JeffersonLa Cienega Station in the 6600 block of Jefferson Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they found that one person had been hit in the shooting and died at the scene.

Three suspects are wanted who fled the area on skateboards.

Due to the investigation, Metro has returned all E Line trains from the Culver City and La Brea stations.

SkyCal flew over the scene of the shooting, where more than a dozen police officers could be seen investigating the circumstances of the incident.

“Violence on the streets spilling over onto our public transportation is a growing problem in the greater Los Angeles area. Metro extends its condolences to the victim’s family and friends,” a Metro spokesperson said in a statement.
