Fredericksburg Police: 6 people arrested, police seize meth, cocaine and weapons in joint raid

FREDERICKSBURG, Virginia (DC News Now) — In joint operations with authorities in the region, the Fredericksburg Police Department (FPD) said that within three days six people had been arrested and weapons and several drugs had been seized.

The FPD said officers worked with Virginia State Police’s Counterterrorism and Criminal Investigation (CCI) units on the evenings of June 10, 11 and 12 to prevent criminal activity.

According to police, the following people were arrested during the operation:

  • Ryan M. Garcia, 34, of Fredericksburg, was arrested during a traffic stop.
    • During the search, officers found cocaine residue and drug paraphernalia belonging to the suspect. Police also learned that he was wanted in Fredericksburg.
    • Arrest warrants were served on him.
  • Michael L. Coles, 24, of Macon, Georgia, was wanted in Fredericksburg on two counts of grand theft auto and two counts of obtaining false information by fraud.
    • According to the FPD, when his car was searched, cocaine was allegedly found in the driver’s compartment.
    • He was arrested for possession of Schedule I/II substances and his outstanding arrest warrants were served on him.
  • Benard L. Jenkins, 26, of Spotsylvania, was arrested during a traffic stop.
    • He was accused of violating the ban on concealed weapons.
  • Jerome Blake III, 37, of Fredericksburg, was arrested during a traffic stop after police allegedly observed him attempting to hide something in the back seat of his car.
    • During the search, officers found a hidden weapon, methamphetamine and heroin, according to FPD.
    • Blake was charged with false identification to authorities, possession of a firearm with Schedule I/II substances, possession of Schedule I/II substances (2 counts), and driving without a license. He had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
  • Maridy Lynn Rogers, 44, of Caroline, was a passenger in Blake’s car.
    • Rogers was arrested for possession of Schedule I/II substances, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, and possession of a firearm with Schedule I/II substances.
  • The arrest of 29-year-old Tyronne Johnson came after a lengthy federal drug investigation by the Virginia State Police, the FBI’s Fredericksburg Regional Narcotics Task Force and the FPD.
    • Johnson was charged with distribution of a Schedule I/II narcotic and distribution of a terrorist weapon containing fentanyl.

According to FPD, five firearms as well as methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine were seized during the operation.
