Justin Timberlake arrested: Singer told police after being stopped that he had drunk “a martini”

Justin Timberlake told police he drank “a martini” after being pulled over in Sag Harbor, NY, on Monday (June 17), NBC News reports. He was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Tuesday.

According to a statement from Sag Harbor Police, a traffic stop was conducted after Timberlake “was observed driving a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a properly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane.”


Law enforcement “found that the defendant was operating the said vehicle while in an intoxicated state, as his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, ​​his breath emitted the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, he was unable to divide his attention, spoke slowly, was unsteady on his feet, and performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” NBC News reported, citing Officer Michael Arkinson’s police report.

“I drank a martini and followed my friends home,” Arkinson quoted the ten-time Grammy winner as saying in his report.

Timberlake reportedly refused to submit to an impairment test.

“Mr. Timberlake was arrested, his record processed, and held overnight until his arraignment in the morning,” the police department’s statement said. “Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Valley Justice Center on June 18, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. and released on honorable recognizance.”

The singer’s lawyer declined to comment Billboard.

Timberlake’s next court hearing is scheduled for July 26, the same day he is scheduled to perform at the Tauron Arena in Krakow, Poland. He is currently on his “Forget Tomorrow” world tour.
