Hazy with some thunderstorms in Pittsburgh this afternoon

Another hot day for the Pittsburgh region, with maximum heat indices between 35 and 35 degrees on Tuesday. The high temperatures bring another chance for isolated thunderstorms that will flare up later in the afternoon. These storms have triggered a severe weather warning day for Western Pennsylvania. The storms may bring more heavy downpours and strong winds starting at 3 p.m. The severe weather threat should ease by sunset. A National Weather Service heat warning remains in effect through Friday. Daytime highs are expected to be between 35 and 35 degrees through Saturday. The heat will ease over the weekend. Showers are possible Sunday. Temperatures will “drop” back to 25 degrees early next week. Today – severe weather warning day, partly sunny, hot and humid, isolated afternoon thunderstorms, 35 to 35 degrees. Tonight: warm and humid, 21 to 25 degrees. Wednesday – impact day: clouds and sun, humid, 35 to 35 degrees.

From 3 p.m. onwards, the storms may again bring heavy rain and strong winds.

The risk of severe weather is likely to subside after sunset.

A heat warning from the National Weather Service remains in effect through Friday. Daytime highs are expected to be between 95 and 97 degrees Fahrenheit (35 and 35 degrees Celsius) through Saturday.

The heat will slowly subside over the weekend. Showers are possible on Sunday. At the beginning of next week, temperatures will “drop” again to over 27 degrees.
