18-year-old stabbed to death in south side apartments, police say

SAN ANTONIO — An 18-year-old was taken to a local hospital early Monday morning after being stabbed to death at an apartment complex in the far south of the United States, according to San Antonio police.

At around 12:15 a.m., officers were called to the Esperanza Apartments in the 12305 block of Southwest Loop 410, near Highway 16 and Texas A&M-San Antonio, after receiving news of an injured person.

According to police, two men got into an argument when one stabbed the other in the chest. Then, police say, the victim pulled out a gun and fired, but it does not appear the man was hit by the bullet.

According to SAPD, the suspect fled the scene and was not found. The injured teen was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he is expected to recover.

Both the San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and the San Antonio Emergency Services responded to the emergency call.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
