Suspended former chairman of PDP in Lagos switches to APC

Segun Adewale, a prominent member and former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, announced his decision to leave the party and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made this announcement during a press conference in Lagos on Saturday.

Last week, the PDP local government area suspended Alimosho Adewale indefinitely, accusing him of sowing discontent within the party and damaging its image.

Before his suspension, Adewale had criticised the party’s lack of electoral victories in the state since 1999, attributing this to corruption and disunity among its members.

At the press conference, Adewale said: “I will not contest the 2027 elections but will join the ruling party to support the president. My next step is to go to Abuja and prostrate myself before Tinubu,” he said.

Reacting to his suspension, Adewale said his alleged suspension by the PDP in Alimosho LGA was orchestrated by those who campaigned against him for exposing how they embezzled campaign funds in the 2023 election.

He added that his suspension had no impact as his ward had full confidence in him and distanced herself from the reported suspension.
