Married woman sexually exploiting landlord’s teenage son arrested in POCSO case in Telangana

Hyderabad:In a rare case, a woman was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in Siddipet district of Telangana state for allegedly sexually exploiting a 16-year-old teenager, police said on Saturday.

The 27-year-old woman has been living with her husband and two children in a rented house in Siddipet for three years, according to a police press release. The woman lured the teenager, the landlord’s son, into having a physical relationship with her, it is said.

She persuaded the teenager to bring cash and gold jewellery from his house. They then left for Chennai in January, where they have been living since then. The teenager’s mother had complained to the police about her son’s disappearance and raised suspicions about the woman. Since the woman and the teenager threw away their phones, it was difficult to trace their location, police sources said.

Since the teenager recently called his mother, the police were able to trace her location to Chennai. When the woman realised that police investigation was underway, she left the teenager at his house in Siddipet on June 11. Based on the information provided by the teenager, the woman was arrested and remanded in judicial custody, the press release said.

The teenager told police that they stayed in a room in Chennai where the woman forced him to have a physical relationship with her. The woman sold the gold jewellery he had brought with her in Chennai.
