Shooting in St. Louis after domestic dispute – man arrested

ST. LOUIS – A woman was injured when a domestic dispute turned into a shooting in north St. Louis Saturday morning. Authorities have arrested the suspected gunman.

The victim, a 42-year-old woman, is being treated for serious injuries. The suspect, a 42-year-old man, had a romantic relationship with the victim prior to the incident.


The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has not released any identities at this time of the investigation.

The shooting occurred around 5 a.m. Saturday in the 4200 block of Penrose Street in the St. Louis neighborhood of O’Fallon.

Police rushed to a nearby street and found the victim with an apparent gunshot wound to his right thigh. The victim stated that there was a verbal argument with the suspect, but it later turned physical and ended with a gunshot wound.

Police later found the suspect nearby and arrested him without incident. The suspect also possessed a weapon that was allegedly used in the shooting.

The victim is currently in critical but stable condition in the hospital. SLMPD is conducting the investigation.
