Man arrested, drugs and weapons seized in Altavista

ALTAVISTA, Va. (WDBJ) – A man was arrested and drugs and weapons were seized during an operation in Altavista on Thursday.

Investigators from the Altavista Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint investigation into illegal activities allegedly occurring in the city of Altavista, according to police. Based on the results of the investigation, a search warrant was issued for a home in the 900 block of 13th Street. Officers, deputies and investigators from both agencies executed the warrant on June 13, 2024.

Items seized from the residence included several pounds of suspected marijuana, cash, firearms, various items used in marijuana trafficking and a vehicle, according to police.

Eric Douglas Bray, 40, is accused of:

Possession of more than one ounce but less than five pounds of marijuana with intent to sell.

Possession of a firearm with the intent to manufacture, sell, or distribute more than one pound of marijuana.

Bray was taken to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Rustburg, where he is being held without bail.
