Man dies after being attacked and robbed while walking in Oakland County

SOUTHFIELD, Michigan. – A man has died after being attacked and robbed while walking in Oakland County, police said.

The attack occurred on May 30, 2024 at 11:40 p.m. in the area of ​​Telegraph Road and Franklin Road in Southfield.

Officials said an 80-year-old man was walking when he was attacked and robbed by another person.

The 80-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Monday, June 10.

Officers have identified the person they believe is responsible for the attack and he is currently in the custody of the Southfield Police Department.
