2 accused of stealing nearly $12,000 worth of tools and equipment

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police say they have arrested two people in connection with the theft of nearly $12,000 worth of tools and equipment on Seneca Street.

Police said the thefts took place almost a week ago, on June 5. Police say two men entered a construction site in the 900 block of the street by scaling a security fence before proceeding to lock a shed containing tools. Police said it happened around 3:40 a.m.

The suspects, both Buffalo residents, were identified as 26-year-old Colton Schultz and 31-year-old Richmond Gibson. They were arrested the next day and charged with robbery, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. Schultz was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

Police said the tools and equipment were recovered and returned to their owner.
