Meadows driver loses his seat in accident

Driver Mike Wilder was taken to a local hospital after an accident involving three horses on Saturday at the Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

The incident occurred during the third race and involved horses ridden by Wilder, Hunter Myers and Dave Palone. Wilder was thrown from his horse, Battleshoe Hart. According to a press release from the racetrack, Wilder was briefly unconscious while lying on his stomach on the racetrack before being flown by rescue helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital for observation and evaluation.

Palone and Myers were unharmed and completed their daily tasks, but Battleshoe Hart was euthanized at the racetrack.
