Rowlett, Texas: 2 dead, 1 injured in accident at Lake Ray Hubbard

ROWLETT, Texas – Three people were thrown from a pickup truck after it struck a railing on Rowlett Road, east of Roan Road, police said.

The car was traveling east on Rowlett Road when it spun out of control and struck a railing, police said. Two people were found dead at the scene and one was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. The names of the victims were not released by Garland police.

The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, on Rowlett Road, police said. As of 9:23 a.m., the northbound and southbound lanes of Rowlett Road were closed due to the crash, Rowlett police said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, Garland police said.

The Garland Police Department’s traffic unit is investigating the cause of the accident, police said.
