Las Vegas police unveil sculptures to commemorate officers killed in ambush

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas community welcomed families and friends to celebrate the 10th anniversary of two fallen officers.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo were killed in an ambush while eating lunch at a Cici’s Pizza restaurant on June 8, 2014.

Two anti-government extremists shot at the officers and killed citizen Joseph Wilcox, who tried to stop them.

Community members commemorated their efforts by unveiling three new metal sculptures at the LVMPD Northeast Area Command on Saturday.

The tribute features two Spartans displaying the P-numbers of both officers and their call sign.

Her legacy continues to be honored throughout the valley after the location of Cici’s Pizza, where the fatal events took place, received a heartfelt Mural in the restaurant in 2019.
