Norwalk police officer arrested after disturbing the peace

NORWALK, Connecticut (WTNH) – A Norwalk police officer was arrested Friday following a disturbance complaint.

On June 6, Norwalk Police Chief James Walsh received a complaint from a citizen reporting an off-duty disturbance involving Officer Hector Delgado. The complaint led to a criminal investigation, and Delgado was arrested for first-degree menacing, second-degree disturbing the peace, and tailgating of a motor vehicle.

This is not the first time Delgado has been in trouble with the law. The officer was arrested in 2019 for drunk driving and again in 2024 for stalking a man and a woman.

Following his arrest, the officer was immediately placed on leave and his police powers were suspended.

Delgado is being held on a court-set $50,000 bail and is scheduled for court appearance on June 21. Walsh stressed that Delgado’s actions do not reflect the values and principles of the Norwalk Police Department and that the Department is committed to a thorough investigation.
