Drew Gordon, brother of Aaron Gordon of the Nuggets, dies in a car accident at the age of 33

Drew Gordon, the older brother of Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, has died in a car accident at the age of 33, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Gordon played nine games for the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2014–15 season and has played in other professional capacities in the United States and abroad since his final season in New Mexico in 2012.

Gordon played at UCLA from 2008 to 2010 before finishing his college career in New Mexico from 2010 to 2012.

According to ESPN’s Marc J. Spears, the car accident occurred in Portland, Oregon.

A star out of high school, Gordon had offers from Duke, Kentucky and other big-name programs before finally settling on UCLA. He averaged 3.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in his freshman season.

After playing just six seasons his sophomore year, Gordon transferred to New Mexico, where he averaged 13 points and 10.5 rebounds per game his third year. In his final season with the Lobos, Gordon averaged 13.7 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

After stints in several different professional basketball leagues, Gordon announced his retirement in July 2023.
