NAPPANEE – A Plymouth man has been identified as the driver killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Nappanee Friday afternoon.

According to the Elkhart County Coroner, the driver was identified as Jeffery Kendall, 50, of Plymouth. Kendall’s cause of death was thermal injuries and the manner of death was ruled an accident.

On Friday, May 24, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Nappanee Police Department officers and an Indiana State Police patrol car responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Tomahawk Trail near ATC Trailers.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a tanker truck was traveling south on Tomahawk Trail when the truck likely veered off the road to the right and lost control. When the truck re-entered the road, it overturned onto its right side and continued to slide south. The truck caught fire, spun around, and came to a stop in the northbound lane.
