According to CBS News, Nicki Minaj was arrested and subsequently fined at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on May 25 after authorities allegedly found “soft drugs” in her luggage. In a social media post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Royal Marechaussee of the Netherlands stated, “We have just released a 41-year-old American woman we arrested this afternoon at Schiphol Airport on suspicion of exporting soft drugs.” The translation of the social media post by Dutch authorities also states, “After consultation with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect has been fined and can continue her journey.”

While authorities did not confirm who it was in their post, Minaj posted about the same incident on Xand confirmed it was her. She later shared another post, writing, “They get paid a lot of money for trying to sabotage my tour because sooooo many people are mad that it’s so successful and they can’t stand with me. They got caught stealing money from my trips/jets. Got fired. Got pissed. Etc.”

Cannabis is illegal in the Netherlands. However, recreational use is tolerated.

Following her performance at Ziggo’s Dome on Thursday, Minaj was on her way to Manchester for her next show on the Pink Friday 2 World Tour. This incident occurred as she was about to fly from Amsterdam to Manchester. It also resulted in her performance in Manchester on May 25 being postponed.
