Houston Haze Today: Where does it come from?

According to meteorologist Pat Cavlin, this haze will be with us for much of the week.

It’s coming from agricultural burns in Mexico and it’s all moving north with winds blowing about a mile above the surface. In fact, these winds carry the smoke all the way to the upper Great Plains.

These hazy skies will last at least until Thursday as long as the wind stays in place.

Such haze from fires burning in Mexico is typical for this time of year.
