14 free agents the Atlanta Falcons should call up this summer

The Atlanta Falcons have extremely limited cap space, making this list difficult to prioritize. The players are all flawed at this point with the easy answer already signed at the start of free agency. It’s unlikely Atlanta will make a move in free agency, but it’s something the team needs to consider based on their in-depth needs. Starting with a player who would be a starter from day one for the Falcons.

Aside from the pass rush, this franchise’s biggest concern is their corner depth. AJ Terrell may be remembered as a great starter, but after the veteran, who do you trust on this roster? Remove Mike Hughes and take the necessary steps to make a huge upgrade for Xavien Howard. Yes, the corner hasn’t lived up to his last contract but in this system with the current options, Howard should be Atlanta’s priority when it comes to adding a player in free agency.

There were times in Gilmore’s career when it seemed like the end was near and the veteran had found a way to turn back time. Atlanta bringing in the veteran and giving him a chance to start again benefits both sides. Gilmore would be competing with Dee Alford and Clark Phillips for a starting role. It’s hard to believe the veteran wouldn’t win.
