“General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor shot dead in suspected theft

Johnny Wactor was shot and killed during an alleged robbery in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday morning, TMZ reported.

The actor, known for his role on “General Hospital,” died at age 37 after being shot in an incident involving three suspects, the news outlet reported. The attackers allegedly tampered with his car and tried to steal a catalytic converter, the news outlet said. Although he did not attack the attackers or try to stop them, Wactor was fatally shot, his mother Scarlett told TMZ.

Wactor was with a co-worker at the time of the incident and the attackers fled the scene after he was shot, Forbes reported. Paramedics arrived immediately, but Wactor succumbed to his injuries in hospital, according to the newspaper.

Wactor, born August 31, 1986, in Charleston, South Carolina, first appeared on television between 2007 and 2009 in various roles in three episodes of the Lifetime drama “Army Wives,” according to the source. In 2013, he joined the cast of NBC’s summer supernatural drama “Siberia,” which was filmed in the format of a reality show. Wactor’s death hit home for fans and colleagues alike, especially those who admired his pivotal role as Brando Corbin on “General Hospital” from 2020 to 2022. Wactor has built an impressive career in fifteen years, according to TMZ. His diverse body of work includes appearances in “Westworld,” “The OA,” “NCIS,” “Station 19,” “Criminal Minds” and “Hollywood Girl.”
