NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A convicted sex offender has been identified as a suspect accused of sexually assaulting a woman outside a parking garage at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).

Metro Police said 39-year-old Daniel Revette is wanted in connection with the May 11 sexual assault that occurred outside VUMC’s east parking garage in the 1200 block of 21st Avenue South.

Detectives and scientists from the MNPD Crime Lab worked together and identified Revette as a suspect. On Thursday, May 23, arrest warrants were issued charging him with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual abuse, and attempted rape.

Police said Revette is believed to be homeless. Anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

On May 11, a VUMC employee saw a man, later identified as Revette, pacing nearby. When she tried to walk away, Revette allegedly grabbed her from behind and began choking her, threatening to kill her if she made a noise. During the struggle that ensued, he violently groped the victim, who managed to break free and escape, investigators said.

Authorities said Revette was sentenced to six years in prison in 2007 for attempted rape and is under lifelong community supervision by the Tennessee Department of Correction.

In 2021, Revette was sentenced to six years in prison for aggravated assault. He has also been convicted multiple times for violating the state’s sex offender registration law.

The state also issued arrest warrants for Revette on Saturday, May 18, for violating the sex offender registry and probation.
