The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are investigating the incident that led to the killing of a United Nations worker in the southern Gaza Strip in Rafah on Monday. An employee of another organization was also reported to have been injured in the same incident.

According to Farhan Haq, a deputy UN spokesman, the two drove to the European Hospital in southern Gaza. The Israeli military said the victims were in the combat zone but did not claim responsibility for the incident, which remains the subject of the IDF investigation.
