Two dead in fishing boat accident off Kerala coast

Malappuram (Kerala): Two persons were killed when their fishing boat was allegedly hit by a ship off the Kerala coast in the early hours of Monday, police said here.

The accident occurred about 16 nautical miles from Manakkakadavu coastal police station limits in Thrissur district while fishermen from the state were fishing.

The force of the collision reportedly caused the boat to split in two.

Although there were six people on board the boat, four were rescued by people on the ship.

The bodies of the two missing fishermen were recovered during search operations, the police said.
