Investigating a fatal collision at the Kirkwood intersection

KIRKWOOD, Mo. – Investigators with the Kirkwood Police Department are investigating a fatal collision last weekend.

According to Officer Gary Baldridge, a police spokesman, the accident occurred just before 8:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at Big Bend and South Geyer streets.

Officers found the driver of the second vehicle, a 45-year-old woman, dead at the scene of the accident. The occupants of the first vehicle were not seriously injured.

Police allege the first vehicle was traveling westbound on Big Bend and struck the second vehicle as it traveled southbound through the intersection.

Once the investigation is complete, the case will be presented to the St. Louis County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of possible charges.
