Man hit and killed by drunk driver near Wilmot

WILMOT, SD (KELO) — A man is dead after being hit by a car near Wilmot, South Dakota, early Sunday morning.

Authorities say a man was traveling on the southbound lanes early Sunday morning when he was struck by a car also traveling on the southbound lanes. The driver was taken to jail for driving under the influence of alcohol. Additional charges are pending.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating this accident.
