Newark woman killed in car crash in Harrison

A 22-year-old Newark woman was killed in a car crash early Saturday morning, New Jersey State Police said.

They say Kaylee Mendez was “heading east on I-280 when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road and struck the guardrail.”

Mendez was ejected from the vehicle and “suffered fatal injuries.”

It was not immediately clear how she lost control of her vehicle.
