Man (55) killed in tragic accident on farm in Lurgan – Armagh I

A man died in an incident on a farm in Lurgan on Friday evening.

The 55-year-old died as a result of a tragic accident on a farm in the Kilvergan Road area.

It is understood that the deceased was a well-known and respected businessman with businesses in Co Armagh and Co Down.

DUP MP William Irwin expressed his condolences to the man’s family.

“I would like to express my deepest condolences to this man’s family at this terrible time,” he said.

“This man was a father and well known in the area. It is an incredibly sad time for his family, friends and the wider community as they come to terms with his loss.

“My thoughts and prayers will be with them.”

The HSENI has been informed.

A spokesman said: “HSENI was notified of an incident at a farm in the Lurgan area last night (26 July). Inspectors attended the scene and are conducting further enquiries.”
