2-year-old killed in hit-and-run accident in California

Salinas police told KSBW 8 they are searching for a vehicle believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 2-year-old Friday night. Police said they were called to the intersection of East Alisal Street and Wood Street at 6:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult with significant injuries and the 2-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Salinas police told KSBW 8 they are searching for a vehicle believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 2-year-old dead Friday night.

Police said they were called to the intersection of East Alisal Street and Wood Street at 6:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult with significant injuries, and the two-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

The suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a maroon Hyundai Sonata from the late 2000s with front-end damage.
