Child shot in Monroe, condition unknown

According to police, a child was shot and killed in Monroe on Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred around 9:21 p.m. near the intersection of Route 110 and Osborne Lane, Monroe police said. Officers and paramedics responded to a 911 call requesting medical assistance.

When officers arrived, they discovered a juvenile with gunshot wounds to his extremities. The child was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
