Saurya Airlines plane with 19 onboard crashes at TIA

KATHMANDU, July 24: A Saurya Airlines plane met with an accident at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport. Eyewitnesses said the plane crashed while attempting to take off from TIA around 11 am on Wednesday.

According to TIA officials, the Saurya Airlines plane met with an accident while attempting to take off from Tribhuvan Airport. A total of 19 people, including crew members, were on board the plane, which was travelling from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

A fire has broken out at the airport. Smoke is rising at the scene of the accident. Security personnel and the airport fire brigade are currently working to extinguish the fire.

Security forces are currently engaged in search and rescue operations. According to eyewitnesses, Captain Manish Shakya, 37, was rescued from the crash site. He has been admitted to Kathmandu Medical College for further treatment.
