Man arrested for smashing mosque windows in Gastonia

GASTONIA, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Gastonia man is accused of smashing three windows at a mosque Sunday night.

According to a police report, the incident occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. at the Islamic Society of Gastonia building in the 4000 block of Titman Road.

According to the report, the damage to the three double-pane windows totals $900.

32-year-old Nathan Reynolds Webster was arrested and charged with criminal damage/vandalism.

According to the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office website, he was released shortly after being booked into jail on $1,000 bail.

There is no further information at this time. We do not yet know why he attacked the mosque or when he will have to appear in court again.
