LSU cornerback Javien Toviano turned himself in to authorities on Sunday for video voyeurism.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office announced Toviano’s surrender, the New Orleans Time-Picayune reported. According to the arrest warrant, Toviano is accused of recording videos of sexual encounters with a woman without her consent.

The woman told police she found videos of the encounters on Toviano’s iPad, which had been recorded by a camera built into a clock next to Toviano’s bed. She said Toviano had recorded previous sexual encounters between them without her consent and she had told him she did not want to be recorded, police said.

According to the arrest warrant, Toviano admitted to police that he used a hidden camera to record their sexual encounters. LSU announced Sunday that Toviano was suspended.

“The student-athlete has been suspended from all team activities in accordance with department policy,” the statement said. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment.”

Toviano did not comment publicly on his arrest on Sunday. It is unclear whether he was released on bail.

Toviano, 19, is a rising sophomore. He was expected to compete for significant playing time in the fall for an LSU team that was projected to finish in the top 25 in the preseason and compete for an SEC title. Toviano, a former four-star recruit, played in all 13 LSU games as a freshman last season and was in the lineup in three of them. He recorded 33 tackles, one fumble recovery and one pass defensed.
