Dirt bike rider killed in accident in East Patchogue

A 31-year-old East Patchogue man was killed in a dirt bike accident Thursday evening, authorities said.

According to the police report, Noe Morann Contreras lost control of his vehicle while driving on Americus Avenue and crashed into a pole around 8 p.m. He was subsequently taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

It is unclear why Contreras lost control of his dirt bike. Authorities say the incident remains under investigation.
