On July 16, the 48-year-old singer posted a photo of a medical record on Instagram and shared that he suffered a broken neck, broken ribs, a fractured skull and scalp injuries. He is currently recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

“I have to send a huge thank you to @grady.hospital after being in the ICU for five days. I know the legendary Grady Trauma Center is everything they say it is, the best in the country. You saved my life and I am eternally grateful,” he wrote in the caption on Tuesday. “I am so grateful to all of you, the ladies who cared for me, nurtured me, fed me, and encouraged me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, the most sincere thank you I can muster.”

“I know people want to know so here it is: broken neck, 5 broken ribs, fractured skull, cuts on scalp and lots of pain all over my body but I’ll be good I promise you,” he continued. “God has me, it’s like someone is trying to take me off this planet and God keeps telling them no not him, not yet… all praise goes to the most high, great and wonderful God, thank you Lord!!!! In another Instagram post, Casey shared a picture of his destroyed car and admitted that he was lucky to be alive.

“I never post pictures like this when I break the news that I’ve been hurt because the people who really love me don’t play with me and I don’t want to add to their fear of my condition but I’m just posting this so you guys know none of the accidents were minor accidents,” he said. “I could probably be dead 🫡🙏🏾🦾 oh except for the big fact that God protects his flock 🦾”

In the comments section, Casey received numerous congratulations from fans and fellow stars.

It is the singer’s second serious car accident in less than a year. In September 2023, Casey shared a photo of his totaled vehicle on Instagram.

“When you know God got you through this, you have to say thank you. You have to feel gratitude, not just speak it. Thank you, Father. I know I wouldn’t be here without your grace and mercy,” he said at the time. “I’ll probably never be the same again, but I’m so thankful I’m here. Thank you, Jesus!!!!”
