2 people arrested after passersby alerted Dayton officers to a possible shooting

Witnesses pointed out two juveniles walking down the block and said they were involved in the incident, Dayton police Lt. Steven Bauer said.

When police tried to contact the couple, they fled.

“They were both arrested minutes later when a fired shotgun was found,” Bauer said.

Police have not yet found a victim in the reported shooting.

However, the two who had fled from the officers were arrested at the end of the investigation, Bauer said.

One of the two was an 18-year-old man who was arrested for obstruction of office and resisting arrest. The second, a 15-year-old boy, was arrested for obstruction of office, resisting arrest and carrying a concealed weapon, the lieutenant said.

The Dayton Police Department’s Violent Offenders Unit was called to the scene and is investigating this incident. Anyone with information can call 937-333-1232 to speak with investigators.
