Three family members killed in fatal accident

Sunday’s fatal crash occurred at mile marker 151 on Highway 191; impairment may have played a role.

The driver of the Suburban, who was traveling south, was traveling “at a high rate of speed,” according to UHP.

The driver and two passengers of the Suburban died, according to a statement from the Utah Highway Patrol. Two other passengers in the Suburban and two occupants of the RV were taken to local hospitals, according to UHP.

Police are investigating whether impairment was a contributing factor.

A GoFundMe post on social media identified the family as being from Mancos, Colorado. The parents and a three-month-old baby died; two other children were hospitalized, the post said.
