Editor’s note: Contrary to initial reports from the crime scene, only one person was taken into custody.

Several members of the Millcreek Police Department, SWAT and the Department of Homeland of Security were involved in a standoff that lasted several hours in Millcreek Township on Thursday afternoon.

The altercation occurred in the 3200 block of West 12th Street between Oregon and Idaho avenues, with Millcreek police directing traffic.

According to witnesses at the scene, authorities arrested at least one person after he barricaded himself in a residence.

Police said a warrant was issued for the person barricaded in an attempt to convince him to come out before entering the home and to arrest him as part of a federal investigation.

Witnesses said armed teams had since left the scene and investigators had gone in with K-9 units.

Millcreek police said on social media that they assisted Department of Homeland Security tactical officers in serving a search warrant at the apartment and that any reports of an officer being shot were incorrect.

Police were unable to provide further details at this time as the investigation was still ongoing.

This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as they become available.
