Hot Springs shooting leaves one dead and suspect charged with gun theft

A man is dead and a suspect is in custody after a shooting in Hot Springs early Sunday morning.

Hot Springs police responded to a reported shooting in the 400 block of Wade Street shortly after 6 a.m.

They discovered 44-year-old Johnny Lee Simon suffering from a gunshot wound that ultimately led to his death.

Essie Fuller III, 24, was identified as a suspect in the shooting and taken into custody.

So far, he has been accused of stealing weapons through receiving stolen goods.

The Garland County District Attorney’s Office has received an investigative file that it will review before deciding on further charges.
