4th Annual Chef Darian Jamaican Market

Chef Darian Bryan, better known as Chef Darian, is set to bring his Jamaican market back on Saturday, July 20, from 4 to 8 p.m., to Larkin Square. The festival, which coincides with his birthday, has quickly become a Buffalo staple.

Since arriving in Buffalo, Chef Darian has embarked on a whirlwind culinary adventure with The Plating Society, The Jerk Hut, Bratts Hill, and many other Larkinville businesses. His culinary fame has spread throughout the city over the years, as he continues to inspire those around him with his outgoing personality, unique sense of style, love of Jamaican-inspired cuisine, and never-ending attitude. If there was a “face of Larkinville,” it would be Chef Darian.

One of Chef Darian’s claims to fame is his annual Jamaican Market, now in its fourth year. The free event features music, vendors, a cultural tent, crafts, and of course, some of the best Jamaican food found outside of Kingston.

The festival’s director is Chef Darian’s sister, Sherece Lewis, who moved to Buffalo to help her brother in his mission to bring exceptional Jamaican cuisine and a stronger island culture to the city. Visitors to the free event can expect to find everything from ice-cold Jamaican rum punch to a variety of Jamaican dishes (such as brown stew chicken, rasta pasta, coconut curry lentils and escovitch-style snapper).

Don’t forget to save the date and bring your friends and family to this truly special and one-of-a-kind festival where Buffalo meets Jamaica, symbolizing the unified and progressive spirit of this great city.
