Engineer attacked: Engineer attacked by neighbours while pruning curry plant | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: A normal evening turned violent in a community in Motera when a dispute over pruning a curry plant escalated into a brutal attack on a senior executive engineer of ONGC and his family. Jayanti Prajapati, a resident of house no. 7 in Shaligram Society Part-1, filed a complaint with Chandkheda police in this regard. The 55-year-old is posted at ONGC’s Mumbai High Field. He told police that the altercation started when he, his wife Sangita and their son Dipak were at home on Saturday night and caught their neighbours – Alpesh Patel, his wife Sejal and his sister Nayna Patel – cutting branches from their curry plant with a sickle. When Jayanti confronted them, Alpesh and his father Joitaram, who was standing nearby, allegedly threatened to cut him along with the branches. “They attacked me with the sickle and when Sangita and Dipak tried to intervene, they too were beaten up,” said Jayanti, detailing the incident that led to him being admitted to the Civil Hospital with injuries sustained in the altercation. The Chandkheda police have filed a complaint against Alpesh and his family members for causing grievous bodily harm and criminal intimidation in connection with the incident.
